Groceries cost HOW MUCH now?

I went to the supermarket today for "just a few things." Milk, eggs, bread, some vegetables, a pack of chicken. Rs. 1,840. For six items. I stood at the checkout doing the math in my head three times because I was convinced I'd miscounted. I had not. I texted my mom. She said "yes beta that's normal now" with the energy of someone who has fully accepted the collapse of everything. When did tomatoes become a luxury item? WHO APPROVED THIS?
